Mouse Bird Snake Wolf

index-1.phpIn this myth-like story, three children play with their creative powers while the gods laze around. Their lovely creations inspire them, until they create the big, bad wolf. Is it possible to un-create? Should creation be left to the gods? Or is the wolf new and marvelous even as it is fearsome?

David Almond has written a story with more questions than answers, and a lovely story it is. Illustrations by Dave McKean highlight the whimsical and fearful mood.
