When Bud gets on the wrong bus the first day in a new town, he ends up at the Cosmos 9781452109060_normAcademy–an Intergalactic school–where the worst thing you can be is an Earthling. He meets Gort who helps him conceal his origin, learn to play Zero Ball and concoct a fantastical plan to get back home. There’s much more to the plot but what you need to know is Bud’s best line, “Where I come from, we never give up.”

Mark Fearing first made a short film, then developed the novel.
