Little Dog, Lost

It’s not only Buddy, the little dog, who is lost and longing for a friend, but there’s a boy, Mark, and an old, lonely man, Larue, who are longing for companionship too. Little Dog, Lost entwines three stories in a poetic, easier to read format, perfect for readers who are fluent, yet prefer white space and pictures. Written by Marion Dane Bauer and illustrated by Jennifer A. Bell, Little Dog, Lost sweetly shows the search for belonging and contentment.

A discussion guide offers questions and a character web, a reader’s theatre summarizes the story and a template for a character poem enables kids to write. Have kids write two poems, one about a character from the story, and one about themselves.
