For a fresh take on an old favourite, read Laura Murray’s The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School. Instead of being baked at home by a little old woman, this one is baked at school, but is left behind when the kids go out to recess. He runs through the school, meeting up with the nurse, art teacher and principal before he finds the kids. And rest assured, he doesn’t get eaten in this version. Fun illustrations by Mike Lowery round out the book.
