Sara Zarr’s Sweethearts is about Jenna Vaughn, a high school senior who wants to forget everything about her outcast days as Jennifer Harris, except Cameron Quick.  Her one childhood ally was suddenly gone one day in grade five–she thought he died–but seven years later he finds her at her new home and enrolls in her new school.  Powerful memories of Cameron’s angry father and a love that goes deeper than any other enable Jenna to see who she is and who she always was.

Set in Salt Lake City, Utah, this book shows the intricacy of peer relationships and an honest portrayal of family, love and fear.
