The Paperboy

Dav Pilkey’s quiet book, The Paperboy, narrates the early Saturday morning routine of a boy and his dog.  While everyone else sleeps and then wakes up, the boy and his dog go about their tasks with contentment.

Beautiful illustrations show the variant night colours and sunrise beautifully.  Use this book to demonstrate step by step activities.  Number each action the boy takes. Then have students number each action they take on a typical Saturday morning.  Write Saturday morning stories.
