Houndsley and Catina and the Quiet Time

Many easy readers have friendship stories, three chapters and recurring characters.  Houndsley and Catina and the Quiet Time also has these elements, but Marie-Louise Gay’s illustrations elevate it to picture book quality.  James Howe’s quiet story is welcome in an age of busy-ness and celebrated sassiness. This book is a quality read for kids who are building up their reading time or transitioning to longer books.
